Summer 2024:

Jolene is disgruntled, socially anxious, and hates her boring office job. She copes with the drudgery by sharing her petty grievances via hidden messages in her emails to her colleagues. When one of her messages is exposed, Jolene is penalized with HR restrictions on her computer, only an IT mix up occurs allowing her access to her co-workers inboxes and DMs. With access to everything her coworkers’ hoped to keep hidden, Jolene decides to turn the tables in the face of impending layoffs. Only, she doesn’t expect to learn so much about her colleague’s personal lives in the process, and worse still, she doesn’t expect to start to like some of them—maybe she can even help them? As tensions rise in the office and complications progress in her and her colleague’s lives, Jolene must decide if she can keep living her life between the lines of an email, or if she’s ready to leave the comfort of her cubicle, even if it means her secret is exposed.
